WHY CHOOSE THE BBA SEWELL TODDLER 2 PROGRAM?
The older toddler program at Bright Beginnings Academy in Sewell, NJ is much more than day care. Our teaching staff combines structured learning activities with free play within our classroom centers.
We begin to introduce alphabet recognition, early sight words, math concepts, and sign language. The goal of our toddler curriculum is to transition the children from a day care atmosphere to a classroom environment.
Toddlers who complete this program will be prepared to enter preschool.
PRIMARY GOALS OF TODDLER TWO PROGRAM?
We Focus On:
- Language skills through comprehension games, nursery rhymes, stories, fingerplays, vocabulary and one-on-one conversations
- Physical skills by throwing, stacking, building, eye-hand coordination, climbing, hopping, creative movement and riding toys
- Social and emotional skills through empathy, independence, and sharing.
- Musical skills through lullabies, singing and rhythm instruments
- Development of creative thinking skills and encouragement of creativity through arts and crafts activities
- Discovery of all senses and feelings to interpret the world around them with plenty of outside explore time
TODDLER DAY CARE SCHEDULE 30 MONTHS TO 42 MONTHS
7:00 - 9:00 am Arrival and Greetings - Toddlers arrive and are greeted by the staff. This is a potty training class all children are required to be in pull-ups to get them ready for potty training success. Physical need routines such as diapering and toileting occur as needed.
9:00 - 9:15 am Circle Time - Toddlers enjoy circle time in their whole group which may include storytelling, finger plays, puppets and singing morning messages and discussions and an introduction of the theme of the week.
9:15 - 9:55 am Creative Art / Activity Centers - Toddlers may choose activities from the various centers such as dramatic play, sensory play, block building and creative art exploration.
9:55 - 10:25 am Potty Break / Snack - Toddlers enjoy a healthy snack in their small groups. We take the children to the restrooms in groups as well as individually to ensure practice and exposure to the potty process.
10:25 - 10:45 am Music & Movement - Toddlers will enjoy learning finger plays, songs, Nursery Rhymes etc while jumping and dancing around the room to all their favorite tunes. The use of musical instruments is a big part of their day.
10:45 - 11:15 am Gross Motor Play (Outdoor Play / Gym Play) - Toddlers will spend small group time with their caregivers taking a walk, playing in the playground, sandbox, and bubble play. When the weather is not permitting us to go outdoors our T-2 students will enjoy their gross motor play in the gym.
11:15 - 11:45 am Developmental Activities / Manipulative Play - Toddlers will spend small group time enjoying developmental activities that will work on Sensory Motor Development, Language Development, Social-Personal Development and Cognitive Development.
11:45 - 12:00pm Diapering / Potty Break / Clean-up for Lunch.
12:00 - 12:30 pm Lunch - Toddlers are fed lunch provided by their parents. After lunch, children enjoy quiet story telling time. Diapering and toileting are done as needed and children prepare for nap time.
12:30 - 3:00 pm Nap Time - During nap time caregivers play soft music while the children sleep. Toddlers who are awake during this time because they may have napped earlier enjoy looking at books and other quiet activities.
3:00 - 3:20 pm Afternoon Snack / Daily Needs Routine - Toddlers will begin waking up from a nap. They will be diapered/toileted individually as they awaken. Children are served snack and get ready for Playtime.
3:20 - 3:40 pm Gross Motor Play (Outdoor / Indoor) - Outdoor playtime (weather permitting) or indoor Gym time for the toddlers. Activities may include bubble play, small riding toys, ball play and playground equipment.
4:00 – 6:00pm Quiet Activities / Dismissal - Toddlers engage in quiet activities. Caregivers share information of the child’s day with a parent.
